Cross My Heart

This size canvas is really cool. It is very vertical, and if you have the right wall space, this canvas might work for you. The paints were applied with a palette knife, so there is alot of texture on the linen. I have purposely left the natural linen peaking through, giving the eye a rest. Happy Times

Here is another contemporary aspen painting. As I was posting it, I realized that it is appropriate to dedicate it to my husband, John. Today is John's birthday, and I wish him a Happy Birthday! Our children got busy in the Henry's kitchen last night and made three homemade pizzas for his birthday dinner....Wes was throwing the dough, Blake was chopping the veggies and meat, and Lindsay was putting it all together. A Day Just For You

Joyful Day

Tulip Reflections

This painting has large chunks of color on the linen. I blocked in the paint with my palette knife, giving the tulips a very distorted look. The light was bright at the Arboretum when I took a photograph of a beautiful field of tulips. I zoned in on the colors and shapes, painting only what I saw....not what I thought I saw. Twisted

Image looking up in the sky with the wind whipping around, trees blowing and a storm coming in. That is what I imagined when I painted this contemporary abstract. I blended the colors in the background, using wide brushes. The leaves and trees were laid in with thick layers so that there is texture on the linen.
